Default varis bumper air intake

potential hydrolock?
ok so since it is a clear path from the front of the car directly into your intake (i have jwt popcharger) isnt there a good cahcne that on a really rainy or snowy day that some will be sucked into the intake (i know it would take alot) and hydrolock the motor?
i really want one cus it looks nice and seems like it would be a good cool air mod, but my only concern is above.

i wasnt sure i fi should post this in exterior or engine. sorry.

its in the right forum, since there is a intake filter in between there is a very little chance of this.

you would have to shoot water directly into the duct from a hose with the engine running, or drive into a lake By the time most of the water droplets get into the hot *** engine bay, go into your intake pipe, travel up almost 2 feet to your maf sensor, its already evaporated.

^ thats not true that particular areas not hot enough to evaporate it, once it got into the plenum area it would start to atomize and be vapor by the time it was into the cylinder. but with enough it will cause problems as vapor is still water and when compressed it will turn back to liquid ( and at the least throw off the a/f ratio) and not being compressable enough will blow a rod.
i know the filter is there, and i know once the front part soaks than the water will cause restriciton and the air will just come from the sides being easier, so all in all im 80% sure it wont be a problem, just wondering if anyones heard of any problems or expereinced any.

I have a varis duct which leads directly into my Injen short ram intake. As an extra precaution I bought Injen's Hydro Shield which goes over the filter preventing any damage from water or other elements getting sucked into the engine.

the way it was explained to me was that you would have to have your intake completely submersed in water for it to happen. I have only heard of 1 Z having this happen, and he was in deep water with a CAI in the grille, so it was submersed.

The filter is pretty thick, it's designed to keep crap out... even when you are recharging the filter the water doesnt go all the way through it... it drips through.

I haven't heard any complaints from the varis intake duct.
