I am now a rolling hot spot..
One of the first things I'm doing is integrating my RoadRunner front end to download the latest and greatest htp://www.traffic.com information (from an RSS feed) with a press of a button.. I would also like a 24 hour weather report to be displayed when i start my car..
I'm also working on a set of scripts to constantly track where the car has gone or is going and report back to my server at home in real time.. I can make my car alert me when someone is moving it unauthorized..
I take a lot of pictures.. now i can free up my memory card and actually unload all the pictures to my ftp site at home from my car when i'm out at a shoot lol..
ideas are limitless..

Funny you should say this. There was a strike going on at my work once and it was about an hour and a half wait to get through the picket lines (different unions, I'm not a scab!! LOL). I had my wireless work laptop with me, nearby hotel didn't secure their broadband connection, so I surfed for an hour waiting to get in
And that

And that

couldnt you just spend like fifty bucks or less, and buy a cable to connect to your car pc and not have to pay an extra fee every month for the "additional line" but use your current phone as a broadband modem? Just an option since its almost guaranteed you take your phone everywhere with you anyways, and vision would only cost 15 bucks a month.

I use my blackberry with my laptop in my car just like that... I pay $15 a month extra for "tethering" and I can jump on the internet from my laptop anywhere using my phone as a modem... I like it cause i dont use the internet in the car often enough to justify 56 a month, but it sounds like the OP doesnt have to pay for the card, so hey if it's free - why not!!!

Its setups like this that makes me regret getting the factory NAV. Ive always wanted an in car PC with broadband connection. Your setup is freaking awesome man. Your Z has definitely been one of my favorites among the boards. Well done man.
