The screen is a Lilliput 7" XGA touchscreen.. available everywhere... The PC is actually in one of the mailslots (that huge ATX power supply pictured was only used for testing and didn't go in the car):

Full install is here (a little out of date tho)..
http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=32479

Here are the updated specs..
VIA EPIA M10000 Mini-ITX motherboard

Opus 250W DC-DC Powersupply
Linksys Wireless-G Portable USB Adapter, 802.11g WUSB54GP-CU
Linksys Bluetooth USB Adapter, Class 1 USBBT100
Dream Gear Mini Key Keyboard
Windows XP Pro | iGuidance 3 | Road Runner Front End
GlobalSat BU-353 GPS Mouse SiRF III chipset
Digimoto OBDII software w/Elm Scan Blackbox

...and hey, I thought of a new use for my in-car broadband.. use a Sling box and stream my cable TV to it

cleaned it up a little today.. looks much better drilled a hole under the rear strut bar so the power wire runs underneath the interior panels.. and configured my carPC to connect via wireless 802.11g so I don't need the ugly blue ethernet cable anymore..

I would say that is a terrific idea, but you know that already

Very nicely done, indeed. Props all the way!

This thread is the epitome of why Mikes car should be the winner of the best Z on the boards contest and yet there is sooo much more! You guys should all go cast a vote his way.

I love waking the dead.
Mikes car is every bit worthy. He has so many subtle but trick mods like this one that go unnoticed in that contest thread. Its a sick car.

Where does your mouse and keyboard go??? :/

You got like a custom slide out table or something in there???

Looks good otherwise.

Most people who have carPC's (myself included) use touchscreens for most things. He mentioned earlier that he had a touchscreen.

As for me, I have a touchscreen for the basic functions, along with an onscreen keyboard, and if I need anything crazy, I have a mini bluetooth mouse, and a mini bluetooth keyboard that I can pull out. Being wireless, they will work anywhere in my G, and even about 5-10 feet away, if need be.
