Billet Grills - How do they mount???
Hey guys, my father and I run a fabrication workshop so I have all the tools and suppliers necessary to make a custom grill and should work out a lot cheaper than what is on offer at the moment. My design is similar to your typical billet grill but instead of having 13 or 8 horizontal bars, I'll be making one with only 5 thick horizontal bars... IMO 8 is just too many and 3 is just too few (truck door edging stuff). So I'm gonna have 8mm x8mm solid 316 grade stainless square rods running horizontally across the bar. I will have a further 3 vertical bars to secure it, and with TIG spot welds from behind. I will powder coat/paint the vertical bars so the zed doesn't look like it has braces on. The stainless will be all polished and shiny.
Now to my question, there are billet grills out there that require you to remove your existing OEM grill by cutting it out, how do these grills mount to the bumper bar?? I'm just trying to think of the best way to do this with minimal/messy effort.
Thanks
Martz
