Question Question for Guys With Carbon Hood and Crawford/APS plenum

Guys, I came across Vantage's thread in which he stated that his aftermarket carbon hood did NOT fit with the Crawford plenum on his car. The thing is, I'm in the process of getting a plenum...either APS or Crawford. I wanted to know if this is a hit or miss or is it definately not going to work out.
Another kick in the nuts is the fact that I wanted to get this plenum polished...so whats the point of me paying to get the plenum polished if its going to get scratched up by the hood rubbing it anyways.

I had to get rid of my Crawford and pick up the 5/16" spacer and MREV2 (from Darren at Intense which I highly recommend) because it was making my seibon hood not latch correctly. Everything is great now, and I like it better than the Crawford too (not that the Crawford was bad though). Call Darren and he'll hook you up. I think he's doing another GB on the spacer and MREV now if I'm not mistaken. Either way, DON'T go with the either Crawford or APS if you intend on using an aftermarket hood. You could get the spacer, MREV2 and a polished plenum all from Intense. You won't be sad you did!

I had to cut out part of the underside of my carbon hood to clear the APS plenum.

Sponsersthisway-Isn't the 5/16 spacer = the same as Crawford/APS in terms of height?

TruBluZ-This sounds like an good idea. Exactly which part of the plenum was hitting your hood? Upper or lower?

How much did you cut away and did you refiberglass it?

Nope. Its slightly shorter. There is no contact with the hood now.

Some people cut the underside structure of the hood to clear the crawford. I dont believe its all Seibon hoods, just the VS2 and TS. I haven't had anyone complain about the VT or OEM hitting.

My hood is the TS hood. It was hitting only on one corner (driver's side). We cut out a 2" oval in the support structure and it no longer hits. I didn't refiberglass it or anything. Just left the hole.

I got the VSII so I guess there might be a minor problem.

Just to make sure, it's going to be part for the fiberglass skeleton that I'll have to shave off? Not anywhere near the carbon?

I'am almost 100% positive the VS II will hit the crawford or aps. mine did. I have the 5/16 spacer now and it clears. Also It will hit the crawford strut bar aswell...

I tried crawford strut bar already and it does cause a little resistance when try to close my hood. I'm going to try the APS one since it sits a little lower than the Crawford.

Interesting issue. Anyone have this issue with the TSII hood? I have it at my house waiting to go on and am curious if it will fit over my crawford plenum.

How about Kinetix V+ plenum? Will it clear? Or do i have to make mod to the hood?

^Very nice strut bar, I especially like the base with the Z cutout.

I just ordered a Crawford polished plenum...so i'm going to see how that goes. Worst case senario, I'll just shave off where it hits.
