Front bumper hit a little, what should I do?
Some stupid lady backed into my Z! See tried to run off, but I tracked her down and called the cops on her. So now the insurance company is going to give me $800 for it. The damage is paint scratched off under the headlight, slight chip on the headlight lens (looks like a rock chip) and a chip on the lip to the hood (again, could pass for a rock chip, but really was from the accident). The bumper has a small round dent in it that looks like a door ding, and above it, it has an outward dent (probably pushed out from contact with something on the inside).
The insurance guy gave me an estimate saying that only the affected area needs to be repainted. Is that BS? Seems like even a good paint shop could not match perfectly.
Also, he says that the bumper can be heated and some stuff put on it to get the shape back to the correct shape. Is that BS? Seems like some sort of bondo?
I figure I could also just scrap the bumper and buy a whole new one, and live with the chip on the lens.
What do you guys think? I favor Balsarini or C-West, but it super hard to find those (yeah, I have posted another thread asking for places to buy).
