What is the official name for this piece, and can I cover it with carbon fiber?

If you don't cover it with CF I would recommed using a metal grill to put in there. Just use that cheap silver 'chicken' wire type crap from home depot. Its aluminum so it wont rust, I pained mine black and it looks really good. Much better than the reflectors IMO.
