I had a dodge dakota for 13 years . Drove i all winter long on the salted streets . Washed it less and less as it got older and even less in the winters . It still had no visable rust when I sold it last year . I would worry about your car rusting any time soon

What color Z is yours? mine is black so u can see all the salt, do u use the self spray thing at the car wash? Also can u ever over wax a car? because the last week i have waxed it 3 times lol

I really doubt it will rust.. but I'm overly babying my Z this winter. She's stored in the garage. The closer Spring comes the more loose I will be with driving her in the salt - I'll just miss her too much by then. But I don't dare drive her through an automatic car wash. Hand wash only.. come on 40 degree weather!
I'd do what someone else suggested.. just spray it off when you can and try to ignore how dirty she is. Dirty, dirty girl.

Are you certain that your municipality is using salt or one of the chemicals listed here: http://chemistry.about.com/cs/howthi...aa120703a.htm?
20 years ago I would be concerned, but today, no. Automakers have come a long way using protective and anti corrosive materials.
There is something that promotes rust which many car owners do not realize. Parking a wet car in a closed garage. You have insured that the humidity inside the garage is 100 percent for hours.
There is a 350Z rust area that I would keep an eye on: the area under the hatch where it meets the roof. That area holds water, and is never dry.

I drive to Santa Cruz and Pismo Beach frequently every month (beach cities) and I'm pretty **** about washing my car after each trip, including an undercarriage spray. The salty air is not as big a threat as the salty roads you're talking about, but still.

Wow, that is way to much, i mean u mainly wax to protect the paint, but you waxing it that many times a week defeats the purpose of even waxing ur car in the first place.....the purpose of protecting the paint over time.... ur not lettting the wax do its job, well ur car probably shines all time tho
yea those self spraying things are perfect for the winter time salts, i have a SB.... thats what i do every week since its freezing in NJ

A car has to be driven! I is my second salty winter on a Z as a dailydriver. Frankly she performs on a snow much better that I've expected.
Just wash the car once in a while and forget about non Stainless Steel exhaust parts (e.g. ceramic headers).
Also, never ever use non Stainless Steel bolts for any of your DIY projects.
