Default Chromed painted Z?

what ever happend to that dude that was using some kinda special paint to chrome out all his Z? He posted pics of it almost done but I never saw the thread again. anyone know what happend?

i think he was trying to do this?

the idea sounds cool, until you see that its not just shinier than normal paint...it literally looks like the car was chrome dipped. Yuck.

that shelby gr1 concept car from a few years back was finished somewhat like that. I saw it in person and it was gorgeous, but even though it was roped off it had handprints all over it.

not something i would do to mine though...

Welcome to 1992 and its still crap.

You have to put on their primer and hope its on smooth. Then you coat it with a solution that turns it chrome. After that you need to clear it. Now if your under coat looks like crap then so will the chrome.

Now what they dont tell you is is that it is not UV stable so a few weeks out side in the sun and it looks like tarnished silver.

Been there done it.
