removing the dash
the WHOLE dash, or just the center peice.
for the center peice, get a flat screwdriver and put a cloth over it, wedge it under the silver panel which the shifter in in, right in front of the emergency blinkers. then push it up, the silver peice will pop up, you will need to pull a bit more to get the second set of clips to release.
after that you need to remove the plastic rubber thing in the nav compartment area(if you have nav, I have no clue how you do this) in that front panel, will be 2 screws, take em out. now you can see 2 more screws, get them too.down below you will see 4 screws holding the panel on, 2 out in front, and 2 reccessed back. also right beside those 2 that are recessed is a white box(the AC controls I guess) I personally have not been able to remove the console without removing those 2 screws and working the white box out of the way, but maybe youll have more luck. once thats all free, pull out, there is a clip at the very top near the windsheild, dont know of a good way to disengage this other than to pull carefully. youll have to disconnect the wires to the stereo, and one to the top gauge cluster. none of these are particularly easy to disconnect, you gotta push some hidden clip to get em off, or you could try pulling real hard, the second option worked pretty good for my dad.
Im sure there are other ways, but I dont know em. this is how Ive been doing it, its not real hard once you do it once, but learning how is the hard part.
