if they are sold in america as anything but 'FOR OFFROAD USE ONLY' they are supposed to be DOT certified, there will be a sticker, not that these can't be faked. I have not looked through the auction to see if they claim this. if they are DOT they were put through some sort of saftey test. I would think a seat would need to be.

word to the wise, if you have side airbags and remove those seats that is technically tampering with saftey equipment and illegal. I do not have to worry about that

I just wonder how heavy these are

bride and recaros have way above that (hahah, only on SOME models) that are FIA certified and such.

So expect to die if you have these in your car and you crash?

Nice price....covers do look cheap though. Ask the seller how they feel about the material quality.

Their Civic seats look even nicer, IMO...

I checked and saw no mention of them either being for road use or offroad use, so be wary, they are also tubeframe build, which isn't nearly as stiff as a CF or fiberglass shell design.

I am seriously thinking about picking up a set. they cant be worse than the stock seats... I hope

shipping is much dinero though!

I looked into these a while ago and did some research.

Some guy on a 240sx forum bought one of these bride seats. He said the padding under the *** started wearing out within like a month and the seat became increasingly uncomfortable.

Some others also expressed serious concern of spinal injuries if in an accident since this seat will most likely not hold up.

I mean when you compare the price, a single bride seat is almost a grand shipped where you can get both of these for 550 shipped. Its kind of a tough call especially when they look so nice and no one is gonna know except you...

I have personally seen the nismo style fake leather seats in person and they really look nice, its just a hard material. But their quality looked really nice.

I like these seats, this company makes a nice carbon seat so these might not be too bad.

Have you thought about going to an auto upholstery shop and getting a quote, I forget who nissan uses when people want to upgrade to leather but I think its about $700 for both seats in high quality leather plus you could get some custom stuff done while your at it.

What are the stock seats made out of? Are they not also a tubular design?

I found the most frustrating thing about the stock seats is the plastic crap on the sides that my jeans or whatever always get caught on. After 70k, they look pretty hagard.

I find it hard to justify buying seats even knock offs just to fix that one part. Even after 70k miles, my seats are as comfortable as the day I first got in. I find it hard to hope that replacements would be the same.

How was the cushion on it and how hard was the material?

I didnt get to sit in them they are in some 300zx I walk by daily. The material looks like the rougher fake leather if you know what I am talking about has that bumpy looking texture. They are probably alright though.

I have sat in some tenzo r rally style seats and those are insanely comfy, they have lots of cushion and are excellent quality from what I hear. Might check those out.

I'm interested on those seats also. Hey man, if there is a serious buyer who wants to test them out, heck i will contribute couple bucks. Maybe there are others who wants to find out might donate too. =)
