Default Hood wont close, need help!!

hey guys.. i need some suggestions..

ive been having a carbon fiber hood for months. and last night i opened my hood. but i couldnt close it. i tried closing it this morning. it wont close either. its not the carbon fiber hood or anything...

it seems like its the latch..it closes half way, but not allt he way..hope you guys know what i mean. when i say half way, i can see big gap in the middle, but i cant lift the hoodn until i release the latch inside the car. but then it wont close shut tight, with out any type of loosage???it feel like its not going clicking the hood in to latch??

any suggestions? or how much cost to fix??

Move you latch plate. There should be 3 bolts that hold it to the frame. Loosen those 3 bolts and slide it up or down accordingly.

Look closely at ur latch assy. It is adjustable. Is there an indication that it has shifted ? Ur washers on the mounting bolts will leave a mark as to where they have been. Are any of those markings visible ?

OK ---IF thats not the case, Get down so u can see whats going on and lower the hood. Is the upper hood latch centered in the reciever ? Continue to push it down and listen to it. U have the safety catch and u have the lock down catch. Im sure ur safety is probably working. Is ur lock down not ?

If thats the case, then loosen the mounting bolts and raise the assy a little. Try it again. Does it latch ? and if it does, do u have to push hard ? If so raise it some more. By now u got the Gist of it.

Also ----With the hood up and propped, manually activate the latch assy to the lock position, Pull ur inside lever. Does it pop the latch ? If so --cool. If not, chk the spring,Lubricaton and if anything might be bent. Do that no matter what. Good Luck
