I think I might paint my center console next weekend (long weekend) or even Monday (day off). What paint should I use for at least a decent paint match to Chrome Silver? Thanks

Using bondo or glazing compound is a waste of time. The glazing compound will continue shrinking even after you think you have it smooth, and the texture will show up again. Bondo just creates more work trying to sand it all back down. I sanded my door, center console, and shifter area in 3 hours total, using 80 grit at first with a palm sander, then switching out lighter grades to smooth it back out. I did use some bondo on it to mold in my metra kit and to fill the seams where the lower bezels on the gauges meets the rest of the console. I'll have mine painted Gloss Black by the end of the weekend.

For what it's worth ... I did it with a DA sander and 180, finished with 120. It took less than 90 minututes. Before I did that I removed the cubby and ALL upper instrument trim-----After paint I reinstalled it with Epoxy. Painted the Bezels Black on gauges and Climate Control.

I used a "Hammer Finish" Silver paint and cleared it with Dupli Color Wheel Coating

Excellent Match for the Chrome Silver
