Default rear fog light kit ... worth it?

so i'll have my first nissan this saturday at the latest, an '03 touring 6spd silver with black leather and 24,000 miles on it ... i use to own a bmw and came to love the oem rear fog light retrofit in which i put on the car. however i know nissan is a japanese company though the 350z's that were released in europe came standard with such a device so would do you guys think it'd be a neat thing to put on? i live out in the country and during the morning the roads are usually covered in dense fog so with that said it would serve somewhat of a purpose. anyway, the kit can be found here, let me know what you guys think

regards,
tyler

huh, I'd never even heard of that. I'd like to see pics of it in use. Might as well try it's relatively cheap as far as mods go.

Personally I don't like the look of having only one side lit up.

if i were to put rear fog lights on my Z i would put REAL fog lights on the rear of my Z. When i put my car in reverse, i expect the whole road behind me to light up.

I have the same feature on my volvo. no, this mod won't light up the area behind your car so you can drive backwards lol, but it will light up the driver side tailight brighter then the other side so people can see you easier and won't plow into you from behind when it's foggy.

I stand corrected. EDM. In fact are the drivers side lights intended to be left ON when the car is parked?

EDIT: I owned a Mercedes in Europe with 3 parking light settings:

Right side
Left side
All

Does the switch mount in an empty factory location, or does it require cutting/drilling?

I dont think its worth it I would only get it for the switch so there is one less empty plastic plate next to the traction control button

Why not make the stock reverse light a rear fog and put a red bulb in it?

lol wow ... guys, the light doesn't only come on when the car is in reverse ... it replaces the driver side reverse light with a light which is as bright as a fully lit brake light which comes on by the push of a switch just like any other type of fog lights on a car, it's on the left hand side since the car is left hand drive (at least in north america and some parts of europe), it's more of a mercedes and bmw thing so i guess i shouldn't do it but being that i had a '99 bmw 323i before havig a z which had retrofitted oem rear fog lights i thought it'd be a fun cheap mod :P

R34 Skyline Spec Nurs have them too.

They're not exclusive to Europe. In fact, I think the US and perhaps Canada are the only places that don't have them.
