can you not just tape off the not painted part for primering? I'd think you could. What would the difference be between primering like this and painting like this?

No. If they tape off the primer will have a line in it that's almost impossible to feather out. To do it right they should find all the areas that need filled and sand it with 36. Apply the filler and sand with 80 Then apply some glaze over that to cover up the sanding marks. Then they'll block it out with 180. They'll feather that out with 220, then sand the whole hood with 400. They should only tape up what absolutely can't be painted. They'll primer just the the spots sanded with 220 or rougher the first coat. The next coat will overlap just enough to get primer slightly onto the 400. That will leave no tape lines and keep what's going to stay CF CF.

hmmm...well....i'm hoping (assuming) that they will know to do this. They came highly recommended so I'm guessing they know their stuff. I haven't really gone into too much detail w/ them as to how they will be doing it. I've just been letting them know how I want it to look in the end!

I say no emblem.....but he's right, get that center of the rear trimmed off, as it does nothing but trap air inside it, adding to the drag coefficient of your car. Read: not good.

i really wanna keep that center rear piece b/c of that turbo kit i might be getting. The kit mounts the turbos back where the muffler sits, and this kit would hide the fact that i've got turbos back there. How about that diffuser idea? would that work to alleviate this problem?

Well, if no prep work was required, it would have been 1500 to 1800 installed. I think that with all the hood prep work and the fixing of the sides/rear, i'm gonna be closer to 2500 installed. It was more than I had hoped for, but oh well.

Great setup! Can't wait to see the end product!! I'm feeling the hood paint scheme.. I've been thinking about doing the same thing with the hood.

Do you mind me asking where you got the INGS N-spec sides and bumper? Is it authentic? Thanks~

fixing of the sides and rear? So there were fitment issues?

all they've done so far is primer them and straighten the lines up. The pieces were replicas and were of semi-poor quality.(IMO).
