It's a good thing that I wasn't going to do business with VS.

whats wrong with doing business with VS? It's a shipping issue, not a manufacturer issue.

Whether it is a shipping issue or not, VS should own up and just send a replacement piece and not give the customer any hassles. It's called customer service.

so the manufacturer should be held liable even if a customer ordered from a dealer, and the shipping company broke it in shipping?

So if you shipped something with say USPS, as a favor for your friend and it was in perfect condition before you shipped it, you put on the appropriate amount of packaging. Then because USPS damaged then you should be responsible?
That's just ridiculous. It seems to me that things are getting done, just with hiccups along the way.
if he gets 1 check from the shipping company, and the manufacturer is getting information from the shipping company of a different paid amount, then the issue clearly lies on the shipping comany getting their sh*t together.

Default My $.o2...

I purchaced my parts directly from Veilside.
Each piece (even the 'jewelry box' with the metal VS emblem) was surrounded seperatley in bubble-wrap..then securely taped to the shippinb box interior.
Overnite was the shipping company for me too.

As for 'carbon fibre' parts; the look is up to each persons taste. But it seems like alot of extra 'coin' for something that is not any less prone to breakage. (maybe I'm just being a frugal girl shopper ... naaaa, I'll just spend any 'savings' on really expensive shoes & 'other toys' *giggle*)

I would agree that the shipper should be held at fault, but most times they will exempt themselves from any wrongdoing (which is why a lot of shippers have shipping insurance just for this type of situation). However, even if the property was damaged by the shipper, the manufacturer can still go above and beyond by just sending either a refund check, or replacing the shipment entirely.

Great news! Just heard from Dave at MVP motorsports. The shipping company won't take full responsiblility but he talked to Veilside and between the two of them (Veilside and MVP) they are going to send a brand new front lip immediately. They apparently have some in stock they just received. I can't wait.

THANKS DAVE! Customer service is alive and well. Thanks to all the my350z members too, POWER IN NUMBERS.

Oh, by the way I will be selling the Veilside ver 1 lip with the chip in it. See top of post for pics. I don't know what is involved with repairing it. PM me for info.

Glad to hear the manufacturer and the distributor had taken responsibility. I guess I can take Veilside off of my black list.

Whoever that shipper was I hope MVP motorsports doesn't use them again.

Hey zh.guitar, thanks for the compliments but all I did was deliver what i promised.

We still use the same freight company that Veilside used to ship this part to zh.guitar because they have cheaper rates(less to ship for you guys), faster service, and you can track shipments online. I've never had a problem with them before but then again I've never had anything my customers received broken. The one thing that is the same with all freight companies is that when you sign to accept shipment, you're accepting it as is and they can use that against you if you find out later that the piece was broken. So to anyone picking/receiving anything from any freight company, check the parts that are in the box before signing and make sure nothing is broken or cracked!!

P.S. : ambo, if you are who i think you are your shipment has been picked up...so...please open the box and make sure nothing is broken before you sign ANYTHING!!

hmm... I think I need to get that. I like it alot. How difficult was the install? Did you do it yourself?

Now all you need is some wheels.

Default Overnite su*ks!

Why? Here is proof(look at the picture). When I received my version 3 kits, I was so shook. I think, they are just throwing the boxes around like a toy... Anyway somehow nothing was cracked. Hu~~ Two days ago, I just received hood. At last that box was one piece somehow...

Oh! I like to see, how they deal with Up coming shipment. A container(11 set of version 1, 6 set of version 3) is suppose to be arrive at June. BUT they never come on time. After custom, it will be mid July. I waited 4 months for my version 3 kits.

Received the new lip in good shape! I almost had a heart attack though. The box had a puncture hole in it! About the size of a fist. However, the lip had a ton of bubble wrap on it and it was fine. Dave, you should seriously reconsider using Overnite. They did the same thing to me again, asking me to sign to get the box. I said not until I check it. Then I see the VERY LARGE print on the top of the box that says "Do Not Sign for until Inspected" So I go at unwrapping and checking it out while the guy rolls his eyes at me. He finally tossed the clip board down and mumbles "I'll need a signature when you get done with that" I said, sure "When I'm done." It's being painted right now and I should have pics in a few days.

Thumbs up

It's really good to here that this was resolved by MVP in the manner it was. I was actually considering buying an MKIV supra TT before I got my Z, and had about $10k worth of parts picked out from MVP's site. I've seen how Dusty and crew treat their supra customers over the years, and I wouldn't hesitate for a second to do business with them. They have a fantastic reputation for their customer service. Keep up the good work MVP.
