Default pedal play

Was trying to pinpoint a RPM related noise and noticed that my brake pedal arm, moves a little side to side (has some slop in it). The clutch and gas arm are solid. Is it normal for the brake pedaal to have a tiny bit of side to side slop? I'm talking about 1/16" to 1/8" max. measured at the pedals foot pad.

Still can't find the focking rattle. Gonna have to rip out the fuggin dash

I'm convinced it's more than just something rattling against something else. Something is out of whack.
