tinting?
spray would be hard to get off and the film would come right off.

If you are going for a more permanant smoke, go with the tint spray. There is a post in the DIY section on how to do it and it looks very nice. If you think you might take it off in the future, do the tint overlay.

Blue Batmobile's smoked overlays . . . I have them installed on my headlights, front reflectors, taillights, and rear turn signals. For less than $100, it's an awesome mod on your Z.

Had bats overlays on my rear and they looked great for 2 yrs, however just had them sprayed and the look is alot more glossy. The good thing about Bats is they are temporary, where the painting is permanent.

Headlightarmor.com

Best vinyl overlays I've seen. Nice thick material and very dark. During the day the lights look totally black but at night you can hardly even tell they're tinted. Worked out great on my and my friend's Z's.

I looked in to this not all that long ago. For the price, the overlays are the more costly option until you figure in the price of making a mistake. You can't undo spray-on. I'd definitely recommend that you see what Bat has to offer. He's definitely a good guy with a great product.

Spray on is a little bit shinier and probably would lasty longer. However, its harder to remove. The bats dont come off easily, but can be if you try.

The key to removing them is a hairdryer. Heat it up from one end, and SLOWLY peel of . 98% of the time I dont have any residue left over. Any that I do, I simply spray Goo Off .

IMO, i feel that getting them painted is much more cleaner, not to mention that it is absolutely shiny, and the light filters threw nice and clean like glass, where the overlays give kind of a fuzzy light output at night. the only downside to painting, is its permanant.

johnstintedtails.com does the custom tinted with spray.

here is my girl's car with taillights from johnstintedtails:

and she has bat's overlays for the front headlight turn signals:

i prefer the look of the spray, as long as it is done right so it is shiny. but, if you decide to go overlay, i would suggest blue batmobile's.

If your tail lights are smoking you may want to change your blinker fluid.

I have vinyl tail light overlays, and I think that they shine just as much as my SB does.
