Default Tow Hook base

I have an 05 Z and i was wondering if u can change the mounting base where the towhook screwed in to an 03-04 Z's base...the reason i'm doing this is because i found this custom towhook on ebay that's very similar like the one on Brian's Z(Volk350Z) on this site and its only fits 03-04 Z's that has 16mm thread on the towhook and when check mine it has 22mm so i was thinking i just buy the hook from ebay and change the base on my Z what do you guys think huh?? Thanks peeps

In order to change the base you would either have to:

A) Swap your current bumper support to an 03-04 bumper support

B) Have your current tow hook mounting base cut off and have an o3-04 mounting base welded back on

Personally I think neither option is worth the hassle for a folding tow hook.

Post a link to the auction and let me read up on it some more.
