Sorry, I don't think that copying some styling from a Porsche makes a person a "poser". After all, Nissan itself did it with the stock styling of the 350Z, so based on your logic your car is a posermoblile.

Based the comments the two of you made, if you deviate from completely stock by adding something another car has or had (almost impossible not to copy some car or another - everything has been tried by now) you are a poser. Make sure you don't put in a cigar lighter that may have also been in a BMW - you will be a poser.

man you're just in denial. the so be it, if the original designer took some cues from a porsche when designing a Z. we cant help that but we can help by not buying aftermarket kits whose purpose is specifically mimmick another type of car. nissan took some cues, some of these kits blatantly copy original designs. there is a huge difference. if you dont see that then i feel sorry for you. when does it stop? might as well just put 911 carrera badges on our cars.

I don't disagree that, for example, the Damd kit tries to make the Z a fake Aston Martin. I see that point. But if someone wants that, more power to them. Maybe it is the closest they will ever be to the car of their dreams. A bumper that has a styling cue from a Porsche is just not the same thing. I think that you are so worried what someone else's opinion of your car might be that it clouds your judgement. It's just a car. Not you. It's something to have fun with. Not be all hung up about.

Sorry but some of those bumpers jsut look wrong. The Z looks hot the way it is. Design is pretty sensitive, you cant just take parts from one aesthetic and put it onto another and make it look good.

Porsches are still ugly. You will NEVER see me buying one. If I abhor the aesthetic design of a car, I will NEVER buy that car.

The Z is one of the hottest cars TO ME. Only things hotter are true exotics and possibly an R34 GTR, and the new GTR coming out.

Z06 is on par for looks IMO.

I like the look of porsches also, but I would not ever want to give some idiots on a porsche forum ammunition to think that Im a wannabe porsche lover. If you make the Z look like a porsche, thats exactly what they would say.

"Oh look, theres the Z thats trying to look like us, guess he couldnt afford a real porsche." Or some such like that. Not for me thank you. But hey, it is your car, and I fully support your desire to make it however you want. As they say, Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

WILCO.

BTW, I owned a Porsche, my brother owned a Porsche, IMHO they are glorified VWs. I would never purchase one again, unless they suddently start providing much more value for the money.

2. I dont want my Z to look like a porsche, i want it to look like a Z.. but having owned my 944 turbo and falling in love with it, a wing that resembles a porsche wing makes me feel all warm inside

Don't buy an 06... for your own good. Go with the 07.
