Default Paint brand for PPW

a guy bumped into me at a red light on saturday. no big deal, some scratched and chipped paint on the rear bumper. we both have the same insurance company so its going smoothly. i already have a date set up through my insurance at a paint shop of theirs. i would use my own guy but it would take alot of arguments over price and waste alot of time plus my insurance company gaurentees the paint for as long as i own the car so if it chips or bubbles or whatever a year from now, they'll re do it.

On to my question....

what brand of paint is best for color matching and blending. i know PPW will be hard for them to get right so if you guys have a brand you recommend that you know works, id like to ask them to use it if they could. if its all the same, let me know that too.

thanks

I was able to get it done with dupont. No issues, cracking, bubbles ect. The only thing I can say is the dupont color code qx1 is a tad more yellow then the car.

But a good Paint mixer only uses the code as a guideline, he then checks it against the car and fine tunes it as neccessary. DuPont is great Sherwin Williams doesnt hold up as well, Siekins is top of the line if u find a distributor

But bottom line is the final mixer as far as color match

Paint brand has nothing to do with it. It's all in the mixxer. Even then it won't match exactly, so you need painter that can blend good.

+1. Dupont or PPG paints I hear are the best, but the body shop guy better be good too.

It's the painter not so much the paint.

I've had very bad results with PPG where as others have had no issues. My painter at the time happened to suck. That was the difference.

Well, I think we have reached the breath taking conclusion that some painters suck, some mixers suck and DuPont makes a good paint
