Default Headlight short circuiting?

My right head light bulb just went out...again. Here's the story. I while ago I got into a minor accident which forced me to replace my entire right headlight housing. I installed some fake HID bulbs (the plug and play ones...I have a base). After a few months, the right light went out. After reading that these fake HID bulbs are garbage, I attributed the malfunction to the bulb's lack of quality. So then I installed some Sylvania Silverstar (just wanted something with a warranty). Now again like 6 months later the right bulb is out again. I'm suspecting it might be short circuiting due to the accident a while ago, but not too sure. Now I'm going to buy some OEM Nissan HID's. So my questions is: Should I get the headlight looked at by an electrician, or do the new HID's come with a completely new wiring system that needs nothing of the old base model wiring, thus eliminating any short circuiting problems?

Thanks guys
