Carbon Fiber hoods etc... Do you like them?
I vote no to exposed CF. I think carbon fiber is great but should be painted and that people flaunting exposed hoods, trunks, kits, etc have low self esteem or really bad taste. But that's just me. In the case of an actual race car exposed is expected, but not a street car that looks like a race car yet never gets a tire on track.
IMO aftermarket exposed cf is on the same level of rice as those who run put on unpainted body kits or install harnesses in a car without roll over protection.

Thus far it seems it is about 50-50 on love vs. hate CF. I can see why Nissan might not take the risk of losing potiential customers & added cost in using the CF on the new GT-R.

I think it should be painted though
I think the non painted CF has been plaid out already.
Just my .02

hmm, i like carbon spoilers, lips and accents like that, sometimes i think the hood is a little much but then again there are alot of Z's on here that pull it off well. i think you need to have alot of other stuff to make it look right.im not abig fan of a carbon hood on a stock(ish) Z
also color is a factor some colors look better with carbon that other

I think they can look good with the right setup. I had one on my Prelude because my stock hood was damaged in an accident and I used the insurance money to buy a CF one. It was 32lbs lighter than stock, so unlike the Z, it actually was a good buy for weight savings.
I probably wouldn't put one on the Z though, since the hood is already aluminum and pretty lightweight. Some of them do look good though.

If I had the cash, I would change to CF hood, but not CF trunk. Here's why:
With a full tank of gas, the 350z is at 53/47 weight. Normally, we don't have a full tank of gas, so our car is at ~54/46.
Ferrari's and lambos have their engines in the center/rear for a damn good reason.. to achieve 50/50 for much better handling.

You mean "real" carbon or "one sheet of carbon of fiberglass" carbon like most aftermarket options ?
Hood is AL on the Z. Carbon won't be munch lighter, certainly not safer...
Gime painted carbon fenders and hatch instead!
