Default LEDs In The Bumper Lenses?

These use to be a pretty popular subject here and just wondering now that they have been out for some time what you guys think about them? I noticed that there are a few different sets out there and they are even popping up on eBay now alot cheaper than most of the others. So how have they been holding up? Any problems with the LEDs? Do they match really well? If you guys that have them can post some comments (good and/or bad) that would be great!! Esp. which set to go with VS staying away from!

I made my own, sold a second set on ebay and have two more sets to make. They are holding up great and I still love the look. LEDs should last longer than you will own the car.

do you have any pics of yours? I havent seen the backs of any of them and wondering how the LEDs are in there? Are they open to exposure etc. Are they sealed inside, just a little hole drilled in and the LED set in, etc etc. Any details would be great, the more the better! oh and how $$

The LEDs are epoxy'd into holes drilled in the back. They have a life of 200,000 hours, so I don't expect to ever need to change one, but still could. All wires and resistors are soldered and heat shrinked. I then Black RTV everything to make it water tight and to prevent light leakage.

I just made my own, easy enough, LEDs are not real sensitive to moisture, but just the same, you drill holes in the back, then put grommets for them to sit in, which you actually glue the LEDs to. I then basicly topped of the back of the grommet and led with super glue, which sealed it up good and tight, and soldered the leads directly to each other. took about 30minutes to make them, and I did it at the kitchen counter with a bottle of super glue, drill with 1 bit, and a grinding wheel, and soldering supplies.

I was going to make another from the stock reflector with 14 LEDs in each reflector(a website sells them, for 200$!!!) but the LEDs alone are like 20$, so I just havent gotten around to getting them.

skiddazzle did a how to of them, hes also the one that sells them... so I would venture to guess theres nothing special about his vs most others. no doubt they dont cost what hes selling them for, but labor isnt free.

if your technically inclined, you can do it yourself, just follow his own instructions. if not, he can do it for you.
