We installed a stillen splitter without the supporting rods and I have taken a trip to chapel hill which is 2.5 hours on the highway at 75+ the whole time and its just as good as I installed it,.
Anyone install the APR splitter without the support rods? Pics would be great. thanks
I would advise against this based upon first hand experience. The APR splitter will flex under pressure at high speeds and can cause severe damage to your splitter and/or bumper. The splitter is designed to project forward from the bumper a few inches and this portion WILL flex at high speeds.
I would like to know the same,, where would be the best place to mount the rods if you have to
Proper placement will depend upon the shape of the bumper and splitter. IMO, you would want to mount the braces at the point of greatest downforce on the splitter or where it is susceptible to flexing.
