Default Clear coating

thinking about buying a CF hood and clear coating it for protection, discoloration. I got quoted $150-200 and sounds a bit steep, what do you guys think? is this reasonable? doesn't seem like it'll be too difficult, since there's no color matching involved or anything..

That's about right. All the labor is in prep. Plus clear is high.

Man---You have to relize that things are never just THAT simple. Wet sanding the CF so you get a good bite, mixing the clear ( Hardner,Thinner ) Into the booth, Spray time, Dry time, Buff time, Cleaning the Gun. It all adds up. Some prices are a rip, but 150-200 is not bad

Not to mention the entire hood must be sanded. Then you clear the bottom side. Let it cure up for atleast a day. Flip it over and resand the top. Then clear the top. Let it cure up a day. Wetsand and buff.

Todays clears and the activators it requires are very pricey. Yes that is a good price.
