Default Carbon Fiber Vinyl Experiment

Well, I was getting tired of my exhaust staining my car's rear bumper since I don't have cats. Every week I was cleaning and waxing the area. It got to a point where it bordered on ridiculous. I obviously hate the look of a burned bumper by the tailpipe.

I tried to come up with different solutions but one kind of stuck in my head. Since I noticed sort of a trend in cars of a look alike back diffuser in the bumper, I said what the hell, lets vinyl with a carbon fiber Avery and at the same time protect my bumper.

So I made a few sketches using photos and heres the final product. Hope you enjoy. I'm very happy with it.

is that easy to apply around curves and such? like it wont bubble up or have folds?

Im thinking about covering the lower lip of my ING's front instead of having it painted black. So, later I can just take it off if I want it to back to normal.

Doesn't look bad! What about smaller cut outs just around the exhaust area? Thinking about covering my lip as well. Let me know if you get the process started. where do we go about ordering?

thanks people. i'll take some more close up pics for all. The paper is manufactured by Avery, the ones that make envelope labels for PC use. The paper is very high quality and is expensive. It is not a vinyl really. I'm a chemist by profession, but not really sure about the paper's composition.

I bought it from a local shop. It is very rare. I had to travel 1 hour to get it after calling for a few days to see who had it.

Paint your car black, I don't have that burned problem at all. However, from the pics, it looks like you came up with an acceptable solution to your problem.

BTW, any idea of how much more hp you are generating with the cats removed? If the gain is huge, I have thought about removing the cats and only installing them for emissions testing, every two years in Cali "bend over" fornia.

Also, "chemist by profession" means you cook meth (at least, here in Calif. that's what it means). Be careful, wear a mask and don't smoke while your cooking.

Out of the question, but I guess you knew that. jejeje.

Have no idea because I did all my breathing mods all at once, but I think that high flow cats yield more torque for NA applications.

Funny you say that, I actually did my BS seminar in the Clandestine Manufacture of mdma, which is ecstasy. (methylene-dioxy methylamphetamine). Ecstasy is part of the crystal meth family. Meth is actually a precursor in the mdma chemical synthesis. So if you have any questions, feel free!

It's a sticker, not even real CF weave, just a printed sticker on a piece of vinyl. IMO it's ghetto and hideous, sorry, fake CF stickers don't do it for me.

IF, you did it with straight black vinyl then it would look good, but fake CF print vinyl is retarded.

I have to agree...it looks good in the pictures, but vinyl fake CF doesn't look anything like the real thing when you see it in person. I like the idea, but I would have stuck with a plain black vinyl as well.
