Default Takata Harness (Owners Chime In)

I recently picked up a pair to install with my sparco harness bar. Does anyone have some nice detail pictures of the harness looped around the harness bar? I would just like to see how some of you guys did it.

Also I got the longer harness (MPH-341) is anyone else running this length WITH a harness bar without any problems?

Thanks.

BUMP...just picked up the shorter version for my seats. I don't see anyway to mount the harness using the wrap around technique. The end of the Takata harness has a stitched-in clip to be used with an eyebolt. The sparco harness bar doesnt have holes to mount eyebolts to.

The only way I can see the Takata harness work with a harness bar is to de-stitch the clip and strap it down with a 3bar clip. Is this how others have installed this? Any suggestions?

You have to undo the belt from the adjuster plate then wrap it around the bar then feed back into the plate... I was curious also but I found these pictures thanks to Adam @ Z1.

Cool, so I assume you do need to de-stitch the clip at the end of the harness? Is there another version of Takatas that doesn't have the clip(with the hook) at the end?

BTW, in the pics above, the harness strap towards the end of the 3bar clip looks to be too short. I think I've read somewhere that it needs to be a minimum of 8" or so. Does anyone know if this will be an issue because I have the shorter version..

You should be fine. I would just leave the clip for the eyebolt to hang.. you just have to take apart the buckle if you look the middle metal bar moves down but becareful theres a spring there. Once you move it down enough the end will free.

bump. I just realized that with the short version, you can't really see the TAKATA printing when wearing it because it goes too far back to attach onto the bar, but the long version allows you to see the printing. sigh. wish I got the long version!

Bumping this, finally got the car back and I'm here installing these now...

Need some quick help.

Well I got the eye bolt in the left side of the driver sides now where do i mount the right side I have bride seats and its a nut and bolt not a bolt alone so the eyebolt cant screw in that spot on the seat.

That eye bolt is for the lap belt. Any help would be great.

I asked my mechanic (corner 3, 15 year master tech) what would be the best way to install them, he said to go for a roll bar. The standard seat belts are designed so that if you roll over, you will fold to the side and your neck wont snap. The takata's remove the ability to save your neck from snapping like a twig.
For attaching them to the harness bar, look at this:
http://www.deist.com/catalog.asp?cat...01121724341321
you need that 3 bar (or 4 bar, can't remember) to wrap it around the enormous shaft safly. There will be a not of slack, but you can just wrap it around the enormous shaft. Just remember, you will get a shaft to the face, eventualy, if you get a roll cage and daily drive it.
