Thumbs up JIC seat installed!

I just got the the seat installed and love it!

install: was straight forward and fitment was juts like OE...easy to install! I like how they slotted a lot of their mounting brackets...that way, I was able to put the whole seat assembly in the car, then adjust it around a bit to ensure that it cleared the door and wasn't rubbing anywhere; atfer I got it where I wanted, then I just tightened down the nuts.

The Aluminum side brackets also had a few different mounting holes so that you could adjust the height. I'm about 6' tall, so I have it set to the lowest position; w/ my helmet on, I'm just barely rubbing the top of the roof. The seat fits well, it's snug, but isn't too small...for reference I'm about 200 lbs, waiste 34". (I'm due to loose weight...but my wife's cooking is too good )

look: I love how the seat looks...I'm not into big and bright flashy stuff, so that's why I went w/ their black seat (they also have red)...IMO it blends well w/ my black Z. The sides of the seat have a type of textured material on it...in photos it looks wierd, but in person, looks normal.

belts: I have a 6 pt harness, all the straps fit. the submarine belt fits through a hole in the bottom of the seat (the front seat cushion pops out so you can fit the harness through the seat)

here's the pics:

the brackets and slider w/ all the nuts/bolts included

here's the side of the seat where you can see the 2 mounting holes

I like it a lot. Where did you get this and how much does this set-up cost you?

Nice seat although I was not a fan of the material they use.

If anyone wants one, you can PM me.

the JIC seat is 6.4 Kg...not sure what the OE seat weighs, but it's a lot heavier.

Is it a real tight fight, or is there a little more room for you. Im a size `38-40. I might have to go with the Sparcos though

I'm a tight fit, and it sounds like you're a little bit bigger than I am...IMO it'd be too uncomfortable. As it is now, I'm planning to loose a few pounds so that I fit better into the seat...I'm also doing it b/c loosing lbs off me is much cheaper than loosing lbs off the Z

I've had one before, so I knew what it's like. the only time I really want a reclineable seat is for long drives or when I'm trying to take a nap . In general, I can drive about 3 hrs before needing to stop for a break. The JIC seat is actually one of the more comfortable race bucket seats....the seat padding is nice - it's not too hard.

JIC does make a reclineable seat as well. PM me and let me know what you're interested in.

it's a bit higher than the lowest setting on the OE seats...there's a few adjustments on the seat bracket for height - I need to figure out how to adjust it to sit a bit lower (right now, the rear mounting bolts [from bracket to seat mount] prevent the seat from using the lower mounts hole...hard to explain). I actually like sitting higher for autoX, it's easier to see the cones...but for cruising, I sit at the lowest setting.

I probably lost about a 1/2" of head room at this point, but I'll report out if I can find a way to make the seat sit lower.

Looks cool. I'll be getting Corbeaus myself but I like this one too.

We need to mess around in the summer Peter.

Does that include the hardware, or just the seat? Cloth or leather? Airbags or no?
