Default Chrome "fairlady z" emblem fading

Last august I bought a chrome fairlady z emblem from courtesyparts.com. The last few weeks I've been noticing that it looks to have lost all of the chrome finish.
It could be one of two reasons:
A: the hot florida sun has eventualy faded the chrome away.

B: in the last few weeks I've also been using a new carwash guy, maybe he's used somthing on it that faded it.

Courtesy did say that they have an outside company that they outsource to produce the chrome badges, but they've never heard of this problem. In there defence. I did place a call to them today, explained the problem and they're sending me a new one free of charge.

My question is should I put the new chrome one on and risk it fading again. Or buy the non-chrome emblem that has the same finish as the original "350z" emblem and hopfully be done with it.

Has anyone else ever heard of this problem?

Here's a picture of what I'm talking about. It used to have a similar finish as the nissan emblem.

It might be but it depends on the angle you are looking at it. Mine looks like it leans to the right around the curved area but if you look at it dead on it's straight. Forever Z it appear now you have just the regular Fairlady emblem.

Courtesy sells fakes that they misrepresent as Nissan on their website. Mine faded after a few months exactly as yours did. Here are the details, and where to find a real authentic Nissan FairladyZ emblem.

You'd think of all the people who can get a Nissan OEM badge, courtesy nissan could. But they'd rather save $5 per unit and sell crap I guess.

After my first emblem from Courtesy faded after 3 months, I bought another from them, like a dumbass. I still have it in the wrapper, but I wouldn't sell it to anyone because it's a piece of crap. If someone wants to pick it up from me in Austin, you can have it. But it's crap.
