Smile after market HID vs factory HID

hello everyone

i have after market HIDs, if i wanted factory HIDs bulb would they fit into the aftermarket HID light socket.

i'm asking because the factory head light unit is custom to fit the aftermarket setup, bascially he drilled a hole into the grey cover of the light bulb area and fitted the aftermarket light into it. so now with this setup can i install factory HID bulb?

thanks

also the driver side bulb doesnt seem to be aiming right. it is lower than the left side. i've tried adjusting it didnt make a difference not sure if the bulb itself is position different. any advice would be great

I have aftermarket HID's and I didnt have to drill anything, so Im confused with why he did this. Regardless of aftermarkets/stock HID system ..you should be able to interchange whatever HID bulbs you please... right ?

wont work, factory hid's use a different bulb. Now if you bought factory hid bulbs and put in the factory housing well then you could hook up the ballasts you already have and power the new bulbs in the factory housings.

Why you would want to do this is beyond me, it would make absolutely no difference. Unless you are going bixenon 06+, but then im pretty sure they come with their own ballasts and lights.

He drilled a hole in the plastic because he didnt know that on the side of the headlight you can run the wires right through where the factory wires go, most people go the route he did because they dont know any better.

Base bulbs= H7
Factory 03-05 HID= D2R
Factory 06+ = D2S
