Is there anyone that happens to not have any mesh for their v2 grills? I just recently got my v2 bumper painted and installed and didn't think about the mesh for the grill area. The body shop told me if i wanted to get the mesh put on now, he'd have to charge me for taking off the bumper and reinstallation.

Hows it look without the mesh?

I'm contemplating leaving mine open.

Kinda looks cheap IMO and very noticeable that it is a copy.

I have two takes on this.. if you have an IC, at least it fills up the area well and it looks nice. If you don't have an IC, then it looks very empty... get the best grill available. Avoid the cheapy chicken wire mesh grills at all costs! And for God's sake.. do not get a chrome grill!

I have an IC, my only concern with leaving it open is that on our cars they tend to sit back a bit too far from the bumper opening. Thinking of going with some black mesh. Not sure how its going to be installed on the Shine though since there are no hooks or tabs. I'll leave that to the bodyshop I guess.

My bodyshop did some custom tabs on a Shine bumper for one of my customers. Came out really good.

Is it bad or is there any trouble to put some mesh on after the bumper is already painted?

Don't have pics cause I took it off before paint and install but the authentic Ings comes w/ grill that are held on w/ tabs. Only problem is that it's silver, guess it could be painted along w/ bumper, but I'd prefer the powder coated one everyone is using from that company mentioned.

thanks. yeah I figure they will have to do something like that.
Between that and the little things that the Shine doesn't come with its not so much of a bargain when you compare it to the authentic part. I predict a price drop.

Yeah plus the added prep time that will be involved with the Shine in order to get any waves and imperfections out will end up costing you more in the end. I have seen quite a few copies come out on people's cars. Pics on the forums vs. seeing in person are two whole different ball games.

I haven't noticed any waves in the V2 product but I have seen some other Shine parts with waves.

^ I did get shine's amuse and it was perfect. My bodyshop guy only mentioned a few pinholes, but nothing more, and no waves and not much prep time. I can't comment on Shine's V2, but the amuse quality was top notch. My bodyshop absolutely HATES aftermarket kits, but he was VERY impressed with Shine's amuse bumper. But I agree, if you get a $hitty replica, you are going to spend more money in the long run getting it right... at the same time... you can get a $hitty authentic part and have the same issues.. I've been through it all!

The 12" should be more than adequate.
