Default New Dog smell

Ok I just bought a 2004 350 touring. I just found out that when I have my A/C on my car is fine but when I shut it off and allow outside air in I am getting this wet dog that was sprayed with a flowery air freshener smell? Any ideas on what it is?

You're going to probably need to open up the duct system to see if it needs to be cleaned out. I'd start with the outside air vents - it is under the black plastic piece that covers the back of the firewall. If you take than off, you can see right down into the air box, etc.

Mold and mildew from high humidity.

a. If you park in a garage, crack the windows.
b. Put an open box of baking soda under the seat.
c. Pull out the mats, and let the carpet dry.
d. Run the heater for a few minutes.

Unfortunately the best way to kill mold and mildew is bleach and sunlight. Both are impossible to get inside the heating/air conditioning system.

That's funny, I got that same smell tonight too when I turned off the AC & turned on the vent. Except mine just smelled like a wet dog! It does get real humid here and I always garage my car, guess I'll try a couple of those suggestions too.
