Ever since I bought my car, I have noticed that while trying to close the hood, I have to push down on it with a lot of force. Almost to the point that I feel that I may leave a dent in the hood with my hand. I did take a look at the hood bolts and noticed that it has been removed before. The marks on the bolts show some wear as if some one either removed it at one point or something from the factory. I did buy the car used so Im not sure. I tried dropping it down from about the midway point but it still did not help.. Do you guys find it hard to shut the hood also?

 

I never had a problem shutting the hood on my 03. The hood is very light so i could see if it is out of adjustment, it might be real hard to close.

 

how much force are you using? Could you close it if you dropped it about half way?

My hood barley even shuts when i slammmmm it! I hate it.. I never want to pop my hood cuz I feel like Im gana ruin something when i have to shut it. Mine seems a bit tweaked because it hits the side of the passenger headlight. The other side has a gap... I dont know how im going to be able to fix this I too bought my Z used, only 6 months used but still enought time for the previous owner to mess it up. I bet his got in a small fender bender, cuz my headlight is a little scrathced too.

 

yup, same here seems as if it sits on passenger headlight, and is hard to shut. Has your car ever been in an accident? I dont know if it matters, but thats the only thing that I can think of, yet again mine has never been in an accident though
