Default clear bra issues

I jsut bought my z, and unfortunately i didnt notice that my clear bra was a little..... hmm.. F!@#$d. it has these strange smudges that look kinda like fingerprints or oil deposits...definately not air bubbles.... im not really a fan of it.. pain in the *** the wax with taht thing on there... anyways i was just wondering if anyone new how to remove it properly and avoid having all that damn adhesive left on the paint? i know it seems dumb.. jsut peel it off... jsut wondering if there was a right way.

I hate to admit it but yeah...I also have some strange looking **** under my clear bra. After the install, bout 3 mo ago, installer claims these weird looking things (just appeared like solution installer used to apply it was never pushed out properly like they do during tint application) will dissolve on own. Yeah right....BS..., Should have just done myself as I would have placed more effort than p. o. s. job he did.

In addition, I must have scraped something cuz somehow it drew some weird line on the clear bra, appearing just as bad as if it would have been done on actual bumper....and I can't get it the F*** off.

I will admit however that after riding it for 3 mo., I honestly feel that I would have sustained more dings and scratches on bare bumper than with the membrane. helps minimally...worth the money...??? maybe if I had applied it.

F*Ckn guy applied it with countless residue under film, raising surrounding areas round filmthose areas....

You can leave it in the FL sun for a couple hrs to heat it up, then just start at one end and pull it off. It will leave a little residue, but comes off quite easily with 3M adhesive and wax remover (available at auto parts store).
I will warn you though, it is a bi*** to take off

I have streaks on my Clear Bra as well. It's not noticeable until you come up close. However the feeling of not having chips and **** on my car is much more worth it.

The bra has to be hot in order to remove it properly without leaving adhesive on your paint. leave it in the sun for a few good hours and when removing use a hair dryer to keep it hot and peal it slowly.
I've taken mine off my hood and the first half came off ok because the hood was hot, right after I drove my car. I took my time and in the mean time it cooled down and the second half was a pita to remove. It took me hours, long hours to take off that adhesive.

damn sure was expensive $400.00 plus tax though no streaks and I know my clear bar has definetly saved the front end of my Z including the mirrors which seem to be magnets for stones and suicidal bugs.....the big test will be if somewhere down the road if I should decide to trade up to a newer model..05 pikes peak white everything shows on this color.... best investment for the exterior of the car to date

Get a Steamer! Don't try it with it just being hot out. Get a steamer, peel up an end and work your way REALLY SLOWLY.

Our shop does clearshield which is similar, there's a greater chance of it peeling your paint if you dont use a steamer.

Hi,

I think you know Chris Kiem, who's trying to get the custom work done from you? I'm the one who drives the Gold Z! Been searching online for some body kits for front/rear bumpers maybe side skirts... any guidance?
