i dont get the point of buying a CF hood..at all. doesnt do anything

the same could be said of your intake

It's a mod people do because they want to, not because there is some compelling reason from a performance standpoint. There are plenty of people who mod the car to change the look...not everyone wants a minimalistic approach to performance only

^ besides, the great majority of CF hoods are CF laid over a fiberglass frame and are actually heavier than a stock hood. There are some that are true CF, but they are $$$. I want a vented hood for the functionality, but I also like my car to look a certain way. A full CF hood would not look good on my car, IMO, so I'd prefer to just get a vented hood in fiberglass to save $, or if the design I wanted was only in CF, I'd have it painted, but for the vents.
