Satin Black 06 Lights...now with Retrofit!!!
I've been on the fence for awhile about doing the 06 lights, as I really like the openess of the 2003-2005 style. But when it comes to light output, the early lense just stink..plain and simple. Plus, there is no clean retro kit you can do due to the odd size of the early lenses. So after much prodding, I finally decided to do the 2006 swap.
Not content to leave things stock, I talked to Ceasar at www.lightwerkz.net, and he schooled me on all things HID The 06 lights are a dramatic improvement vs the earlier lights as we all know, but they still can be improved upon. So, what I decided to do was go with a satin black color for the housings, and a retro kit to a non fresnel lense. Ceasar not only had the lense in stock, but he turned these around to me in 24 hours! I sent him the lights Monday night, he got them Tuesday and worked his magic and by Wednesday I had them back in my hands!!!
onto the good stuff
stock 06 light output:
AFTER the lightwerkz retro swap
I'll get installed pics posted once the new body work is finished !

Jesus, Chrimeny! Those are SOO SICK!
I so wish I would pony up the dough for some 06ers.
So without the cost of the headlights, what was the cost including shipping to do the paintjob, and clearing?

Light output actually slightly decreases after you add in 6000k bulbs since the temperature is higher then stock (4300k) therefore you lose lumens. Its a slight decrease in performance, but some people like the additional color.
Personally I prefer function over form
Oh and I'm so glad you liked the end result Adam. I know you were on the fence about the 06+ lights....I guess all you needed was some lightwerkz love!
