Hey guys, i was just wondering if anyone could maybe to a write up on how to paint the engine cover. I tryed it myself but it came out terrible. Its not glossy or nothing. If anyone can write up how to color match including what type of paint to use and all that fun stuff i would really appreciate it. I see in some engine bay pics the cover look like glossy and have that wet look, it looks like the exterior paint of the car, mine just look like ****ty paint lol.
So if anyone can do a write up on how to do a nice engine cover paintjob i would greatly appreciate your help
1. you have to sand it to a flat surface, maybe use #180 grit first, then use#400 grit
2. spray perimer, dry, re-spray if necessary (make sure surface is flat)
3. spray color coat, dry
4. spray clear coat, 4-5 times, dry for 1 day
5. use #1500 or #2000 grit, wet sand the paint
6. use polish compound, polish the paint, make it shine
7. wax it
and you're done
