It's been about 3-4 days now since I put it on, and it's been through some HARD rain, and a HOT day.. drove it up to 100mph, nothing made it come off the slightest bit. It's stuck on there
Make sure you push it REALLY hard in there... and if all else fails, and you're SURE you want it on there forever, put a few tabs of glue on the grill, and push them on to secure them harder. Only do that if your sure you want them on there though, otherwise when you take it off, it might leave some plastic residue on the grill.

you guys need to become freinds with silicone. and not the kinds in fake *****. you can buy it in tubes, it holds real well, is a thick, yet flexable glue, and if you pull it off, it will leave absolutely no residue.

where are you guys buying these at? I went to my local Murrays, but the strips dont fit all the way across the grille, you have to use an extra one to cut and add on to the grille to make it fit all the way across, doesnt look good because you can see the spot where the two pieces come together. Anyone buying these at a national chain where i can pick some up here in Michigan?

I bought mine at Advanced Auto Parts. They sell 2 27" strips for $5.99, you will need 4 strips, which only leaves about 5 inches left over. Total cost: $11.98. If you can't find it, I can buy them here and mail you them. PM me if you want that.

Hey Ares, what kind of silicon did you use?
I put them on last week and the top one fell off, so I replaced it, It fell off again, so I Hot Glued it and the middle one too. I came out this morning and half of my chrome grill was on the floor!!
So Please tell me what kind of glue I should use.

the silicone I use can be found in your local home depot, lowes, or other hardware store, I buy it in tubes, but you have to have a gun thingy(no clue what the technical name is) to use the tubes, it should be available in smaller sized packs that dont need a gun tho, I just use alot of it, so I buy the economy styled size.
its the same thing they seal showers and tile with, it dries near clear, just go into a hardware store and look for silicone sealant for bathrooms and kitchens, works great.

I think I bought a cruddy brand of chrome trim, after just one day the clear coating is coming off and it looks like it has been on there for about 10 years? Looks pretty nasty, going to take it off real soon. Too bad to, it looks really cool. Best $6.00 mod I have ever seen, too bad it gets tuined so easy.

We did this mod to my girls Z about a month ago, maybe a little longer, and no problems thus far. I put some clear nail polish on the ends just to be safe. We have washed the car many times and driven it hard many times and they are still on there nice and tight.
When I installed them my girlfriend had just washed the car, I made sure the plastic was clean and dry. I then applied the door molding and pressed very hard and made sure it was tight.
