Default F*ckin' APR splitter!!!

Alright guys, i've wasted way to much time on this thing already.....I swear. Anybody have any advise for me as to how to correctly put this thing on. I used the factory holes on the bumper where the factory diffuser was bolted to. For some reason it points up in the air now. I adjusted the rods DOWN as much as possible but the front of the splitter still points upwards, its actually following the lines of the bottom of the bumper.

Anybody know how to level this thing out. I don't think it looks right pointing upwards the way it does. Man i'm pissed. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Nah, no pics as of yet because I have the bumper back off the car at the moment trying to readjust it. I will, however, post pics once I get the bumper back on.

It just seems to me if it slanted upwards it would provide "up" force instead of "down" force, maybe not though. I searched the pics on the forum and from the few I found it appears it should be level.

Actually a proper designed splitter should have somewhere in the neighborhood of 5-7 degrees upsweep if I am not mistaken. I know that is the standard for quite a few of the JGTC cars run them that way. I believe the idea is that it will prevent air from going under the car by creating a high pressure zone under the front lip (by forcing air towards the ground) and therefore making the air flowing over the car more effective at creating down force.

However, I believe that this also has to incorporate ride height and things such as the side skirts. If you are allowing air to flow under the body by other means then the affects of a splitter will be greatly reduced.

From the pictures I have seen, it also appeared to me that the splitter was raised upwards a bit.

Hmmm, okay great info. fella's...I really appreciate it. Bumpers back on the car for prolly the 4th time now. I was able to bring the front down a bit and may find it livable now.

Quamen, I really wasn't planning on side skirts but rather Veilside underwings. I'm trying to help handling here, not hurt.

350Z84, I believe your right about the pics. I found some on a Z on another site that show pretty much the upsweep mine has. Theres just not that many pics of the splitter on the Z to research!

I'll try to get some pics today at some point. She needs a bath.

I believe that lowering your car will actually make this splitter more effective since it will make the air have to go through that much smaller of a gap therefore raising the pressure.

The side skirt idea is that the air that does not go over or under the car trys to go around the car and have side skirts that are low to the ground further prevents the air from going under the car via the sides.

Another good trick that is very cheap is to put laminar strips on the roof. One right above each door line. This will help prevent the fast moving air going over the car from spilling off the sides of the car therefore making it more effective and holding the air to the body contour longer. If you have a wing that is in the airflow path over the car this will also help more air get to the wing making it more effective.
