Default leather door panels?

Anyone had leather wrapped over their door panels?? I have 2 yards of Frost leather and was thinking I'd really like my cheap plastic door panels covered in leather...

I'd like to see pics and hear of the experience if anyone has done it.

I've done it, it's really not that hard to do. I haven't done it on a 350z though. I'd have to look at the Z's door panels closely to see if there would be any dificult spots. Use an upholstery glue (not super77 or any other spray can stuff!!!!!) I don't have time to explain it fully right now, but if you post a pic of a 350z door panel I will look at it and reply later.

I've done many door panels in tweed during my sport truck days... but the Z panels are not very flat. There's some sharp and tall 90 degree corners around compound curves.. I know leather won't stretch like tweed will so I assume some stitching may have to be done??

uninformed question coming up.

are leather panels typicly done with REAL leather? I thought it was pleather, and thus, would stretch more easily.

thread revitalized

I was sittin in Borders last night and decided to flip through Turbo mag which I recognized had a stillen s/cd Z on the cover. It only put down a measly 312hp, and with a s/c... so sad. back on topic, I also noticed it had graphite leather with a red wavy stripe also in leather stitched onto the door panel. Looked GREAT. Anybody have any more thoughts on this?

Well....., I changed my seat and door panel to two tones leather (high quality leather). I used black leather and grey alcantara leather (similar to suede). Looks very good. I paid $1250. The guy did a very good job. I will post the pictures soon.

hi
you might try Mr Mikes in Florida. He does leather for a few old cars, might be interested in doing things for Z owners if there is enough interest
He did custom leather for my F40, and it came out great.
