Default door panel removal?

Going to remove the panel tonight to install some new goodies and wanted to check on a few things.

1st: Is the panel just held on by clips? If so will they need replacment after removal?

2nd: Are there any other parts that need to be removed to get the panel off like pulling the switch cover to get to any screws or clips?

Thanks!

remove window switch panel.(two screw there.) open door handle there one screw there behind that small black piece you can pop out. Driver side you have to pop the silver thing on the door handle.(two screw there) then same like the driver side. up with the window switch plate. and behind the open door handle.

Default And passenger side handle!

I have no idea why no one mentions the two screws deep behind the passenger side handle. Took me forever to find this out and had to go by an extension for my ratchet.

Default passenger side

Also need to get the two behind the passenger side handle. Deep inside and needs special extender on your ratchet.

I could be wrong, but I believe these screws you are talking about are philips also. You should be able to also use a long screwdriver to get to them, however getting them back in is very difficult without a socket/magnetized screwdriver.

Driver side: remove screw in the little pocket and there's another screw behind the door handle (pull the little cover off when you lift the handle). Then pop the plastic control panel out and unplug the harnesses. After that it's pretty much just pull the bottom of the door panel to unsnap the clips and the door panel should come right off

Passenger side: This side has 2 screw behind the silver door pull thing as well as the another screw behind the actual handle like the driver side. Remove the controls again and pull the panel off. You will need about 1ft. extension for one of the screws behind the silver piece you removed. I dont remember the socket size but I want to say 10mm or 12mm.

You shouldn't have to replace any clips, but they might slide out of their spot so pop them back in.

how do you get to the screws behind the passenger pull handle? just pry off the aluminum piece with a butter knife wrapped in tape or something?

Yep, wedge something thin at the top of the aluminum cover for the handle and it will pop off, two screws are there but they are pretty deep, hence the warnings about socket depth, etc.

I'm not sure what year your car is, but here's a good thread with pics on how to remove the door panels.

Hope this helps.
