Z Side Badges with LEDs
I don't own a square bit that will work in metal. I drill them round, but use the smallest bit that will allow the led to sit in the hole from behind. There is still some edge left to keep the whole from being completely round.

I have mine setup with the blinkers. I thought having them on with the Runing lights, would just be to much( i also have the LED sidemarkers up front) These Are bright and easly seen. This Pic was taken around 4pm in the shade.

looks very good...... i like..... are they easy enough to install on your own? About how long did the install take. Mind you i have no idea how to do anything on my own with the car, but i'd try?!?
It took me a little over an hour, if I remember correctly. Since it was not my car I was extremely careful and took a little extra time. I also soldered and heatshrunk all the wiring. Crimp connectors are a little quicker. I'm not a fan of scotch locks.
The hardest part was removing the old double sided tape. When I did my set (the prototypes) I used the originl two sided tape that was stuck on the car after I poped the emblems off. That would easily save 15 or 20 minutes. The new emblems come with new tape, but I'm not sure its any better than the factory tape that is left on the car. Mine have been on with the old tape for over a month. Numerous rains and even a high pressure wash without an issue, so I guess my efforts to make them water tight have been successful.
There are no steps to the install that are very difficult. The only part that is nerve racking is drilling a hole in the fender. I have a template to mark the drill point exactly so location is not an issue.
I have sold all the sets I had made and can probably only get one set done this weekend and already have been contacted for those. The LEDs are so small they have to be soldered with a magnifying glass and its time consuming.
Anyone who is interested can email me and I will start making more next week. First come first served.

You might check to see what a local tuner type shop would charge to install them or better yet make contact with a local Z club. Most Z Clubs like to have tech days where members meet at a shop or a well equiped member's home and do projects just like this. Even if you don't buy a set its great to have enthusiast friends.

I like this badge mod as well as the Evo-Z4. I was always hoping that the Z4 would incorporate the three LEDs in the squares feature to highlight the "Z", but it never did. I guess I have to see both in a side by side nighttime comparison to decide which one looks better. I think it will be tough...
