I thought I wanted leather until I sat in a few cars that were only a few years old and how stiff, cracked and crunchy the leather became.

Leather needs a bit of maintenance every now and again which is why some end up cracked and crunchy because they haven't been looked after well.

But I still think leather finishes off the car beautifully and the heated seats are great. My ZR is in an underground carpark all day and night so it's never too hot or cold though when I jump in so I think that helps

I just wished you could buy a fully loaded car with nice cloth seats.

My Pathfinder is fully loaded for the locking center diff. But, off roading I don't need stinkin' tan leather seats to dirty up and scratch. Doh..... But, the seat heaters are nice. In cloth, please..... ;-)

As to the point on cracking leather -I f you condition leather seats right they crack evenly and actually make the seat feel better over time. A good worn in leather seat fits you well. However, it always seem that seat looks like carp and the other look new after a few years of use. Cloth wears better.
However, conditioning your leather seats helps a lot!

I prefer cloth. The leather gets cracked and looks OLD after a while.

Leather all the way. Easier to clean, and you can condition it and keep it looking pretty good. Fabric wears too, then you get those nasty bobbled bits, ikk. Everyone is different though. Anyway, whichever the choice, when they wear out, just a nice excuse for new ones.

leather feels nice....never felt the Z leather before. cloth = grippy. my cigarette burns would look much worse if i had leather.
I dont know whats wrong with your POS, but ive been to AZ a few times and probably ridden in 15 different cars while down in there. Always had ice cold air blowing in my face.

Take your car to the mechanic.

I like leather couches but not leather seats in a sports car.

But I have to say this before this thread turns ugly... Different strokes for different folks.

A/C will have no affect on your legs that will still be stuck to the seats. Plus the seats will still be hot when you first get in the car.

"Looks better and classier" is matter of opinion. I'll agree if you are talking about the leather in a Bentley or Aston but not in a Nissan.

The only time leather is acceptable in hot weather is when you have climatic cooling seats like in a Lexus etc

....And as other people have said, you don't slide around in cloth seats.

Its all personal preference.

Definitely prefer clothe. Leather is cold in the winter and makes you sweat in the summer. Way back in the days when we lived in NY we made the mistake of buying a leather couch at the start of the summer. It was so sticky and sweaty we returned it to the store.
