Default So two 12's broke my Homelink rearview mirror... Warranty?

Cruising on my way to work this morning thumping some "Nuthin But a G Thang" by Dr. Dre on two RF P3 12's powered by a Memphis 1000D. Next thing you know, my rearview mirror falls off. I'm thinking, ok maybe it's detatchable or a screw fell out-WRONG. The 1/2" thick die-cast aluminum post that attaches it to the windsheild mount SNAPPED!

Is this something that could be covered under warranty? Just bought my car in January 2007.

Wow bud I've heard about that happening but never have seen it. I think that would be under warranty, sense there is no way to prove if it was defective or the stereo.

Oh, and I think the dealer will cover this if you take out the subs.

Would they even see the subs? They would have no reason to look in the hatch.

Ideally you'd want to check out your region and look for a preffered dealership. But, you do not have to go back to the dealership you purchased from (Think of the used car buyers)

I had this same exact issue and when I took my car in to get a new one they said that "I broke the mirror with force" so they would not replace it. They basically told me that I ripped it off and that it didn't break by itself.

Good luck hope they actually replace yours.

Wow good luck fixing it..
IMHO two 12"s are just overkill for the Z. I used to have 2 10"s and I thought even that was loud..

I would think it would be covered under the warranty. I know lots of people with systems in their Z's, and never had this happen to it.

happened to me twice. both times it was replaced for free under warranty. good thing too since the homelink mirror is like 400 bucks or something crazy around there.
