i like 03-06 hoods alot better than the 07...i dont like that huge bump in the hood..is that bump there for a reason or just looks? what do u guys like better?

The new M3 also has the same type of bump on the hood

 

And you already know that the only reason there is a bump is not because of "style", but because the engine is mounted a bit higher.

 

yeah, it's like that for a reason. the HR engine sits a good bit higher than the DE. gives a more muscle-built look imo, but i see so many 03-06s, so i'm happy with being a bit different.

 

The headlights on the 07's are way cooler too

 

Power bulge, i think without it the Z looks too femanine from the front.

what's different about the 07 headlights? They look identical to my 06's.

 

They are different from my 03 headlights.

 

 

What does that pic have to do with the hood?

The hood is bulged for a reason I am sure. Im also pretty sure the engine and strut bar just barely clear the hood

The 07 muffler bearings and alot beefier than the 03 bearings. Also, the 07 horn has a much more "jdm" beep to it as well. Overall, the 07 is much faster than the 03.

 

This is just another pointless thread. This was discussed plenty when the 07 first came out. People like different things and neither hood is "better". For some people is was the deciding factor on whether to get the 07 or not, but most get over it and just buy it. Its a hood and it's bulged for a reason.

 

With some of the colors the buldge is hard to notice

 

see it in person before you rule it out. looks great in person IMHO

i think the bulge makes the front end look a little more bulky and i like it.
