Question CF battery and fluid covers - stick it!

Just got some carbon fiber battery and fluid covers. They fit perfectly on my '07, but the double sided tape doesn't stick at all. It came with pre attached double sided tape, and I even added some of my own to make sure it would stay, but it doesn't adhere at all to the slick plastic covers.

Anyone have this problem, and what did you do to get these to stay?

I could try to sand the crap outa these to give it something to grab onto, but not sure if that's the best way to go?? Is there a heat resistant adhesive that I could pick up at a parts store?

1) Make sure this isn't any oil (armor all) on the oem cover.
2) I went by Lowes and bought some indoor/outdoor 3M double sided tape.
3) I placed my tape on the surrounding sides of the oem cover. Not just the top. Seemed to hold the cover better.

Thanks for the input guys. What I used was my 3M Super Strength Molding Tape (which is what I used on my front lip). Yeah, these covers almost feel like they have a super slick wax type coating?

Loctite Extreme is what I ended up using. It's supposed to hold up to 400 degrees. I roughed up the covers with sandpaper, cleaned off the residual stuff, then applied the Loctite and stuck them together. Layed a towel down, flipped these covers over and put a 2 gallon bucket filled with water on each of them to hold them together overnight.
