Default Shine Auto Amuse Replica Review

Just got the kit finished.

It took me a long time to do this, because I wanted to do the install myself except for the painting.

The kit was indeed a good 'replica' but not really a bolt on. The sides required quite a bit of work done to it to make them fit properly.. but front was pretty much bolt on.

The kit looks nice, but it seems like those sides where a pain in the butt to fit. Car looks good though!

WOW great work !

Why didnt you consider returning/exchanging the sideskirts, maybe that set was defective?

It's a shame the sides aren't that great. Maybe shine can chime in as to why this might be.

Yea I love the Amuse kit.
That would have been my first choice if Nismo V2 didnt exist.

I have seen a few of these fronts in person and the fitment and material is great. The sides also look very good in person. I did however see that on the sides, the piece that fits in the side of the door may need to be slightly modified to fit properly - talking less than 5 minutes with a file. Other than that, the fitment from the pieces I have seen look excellent. These are about as good as you will get regardless of authentic manufacturer or replicas.

And some people on here said that it takes 10mins to install the parts!
Theyre obviously clueless.

I like the black mesh behind the side inlets. Did those come with the kit, or did you have to supply those yourself? Great job BTW. Looks good.

Looks excellent! Amuse makes my favorite front bumper for the Z. I plan to go that route myself in Spring.

One thing I've always wondered though; with the long vents, doesn't the washer bottle show through on the passenger side? Every picture I see is taken at a 3/4 angle from that side so I can never tell.

d00d, the bumper is a straight bolt on. there are 4 bolts i believe and 4 clips under the hood. it literally takes 10 minutes or less to put a bumper on.

man i was just about to pull the trigger on the front and sides, but after reading your review... sigh, ive heard only great things about shine until now.

Nexx its not as easy as that.
My car is only ready right now.
It took almost two weeks.
Maybe my shop is just dumb?!
Or
Maybe its easier with Authentic kits?!

thanks guys

MyFairldayZ2006 - I live in New Zealand, and returning the side skirts for replacement wasn't really a good option to take.. I knew it would take a while to make them fit but didn't think they were that much off. I actually ordered two kits. The two had different quality but side skirts were pretty much the same headache. I think its their mold, not the work.

usemanasif - you can still see it through the black grill but its not as obvious... its 'ok' and I don't think we really need to 'hide' the bottle :P

onebadfybo - No the kit does not come with the grill mesh, I had to buy it from a local shop and glue them on

97SupraTT - Those are Falken RT615's in the front cheap in USA but they are pretty expensive over here in NZ

I am not saying shine's kits bad, in the end its only a replica. but I think they could've done a better job with the sides. And it was definitely not a 5~10min file job to make them fit, or nowhere near it. I had to file/cut/fibreglass/sand/fill. Pretty typical work I expect from low quality replica's and I was surprised that Shine's kit needed this much work because everyone on the forum said it fit easily. I searched around again and found that most people only got the front, and yes front fit fine, just needed some surface work to fill up air pockets. I am guessing that Shine put more effort towards their front since it is selling better than sides/rear.

Yea I just got my car back today and my bodyshop they also had problems with the fitment of the Shine Nismo sides, which is why it took so long.
The front bumper and rears fitment were pretty good though.
I'll post some pics later tonight.

I was never 100% happy with the sides because I felt the fitment was a bit short. You can see the shortness in a few of the amuse pics as well.

If you look at our thread in the classifieds, I mentioned that we decided to redo the molds of the sides and there are a few people who were waiting on us because of it. We extended it a bit, but you will still have to drill in areas that you wouldnt with the oem sides, just to get a good flush fit.

Our sideskirts are flexible, so there's a bit more play. The original amuse sides are stiff... so the structure holds.
