Its alright, but not many cars can pull it off IMO. While it can look good in some applications (like a few of the exotics posted above), flat black is wayyyy overrated. Would look bad on a Z,

Matte finishes are indeed bad @$$ but what are they useing in reguards to paint protection since there is no clear coat????
You hardly can't take the car with out needing a paint touch by the time you get back home.

Good thing is there is no clear so all you need is to spray on a touch up.

Um not true man, there are Matte Clears out there. House of Color has a setup. The big pain in the a$$ thing is the fact that you gotta paint EVERY THING!!! Engine bay, all the inside, under the hatch, etc. You litteraly have to strip out your entire car to do it right.

Thats the only way it looks remotely good, other wise your going to have spots of color showing through.

Yeah the only reason that I even know that is I was helping my father with a couple of projects. Ended up slamming, chopping, sectioning, and channeling a '62 Ford Pickup. Went with the house of color Matte Black with that clear. That is some REAL expensive stuff right there.

Not too bad to spray but you gotta have your prep down great. LOTS of block sanding, several layers of primer wet sanding in between. You throw down the base color, bake & color sand, wash rinse and repeat (several times). When done right; the cars lines flows like satin, looks like suede, and you have a chip resistant matte clear. Verry labor intensive to pull it off on a car with flowing lines.

This was a frame up build, so every thing was already out. With the Z. Your looking at well over 100 hours in preping to paint. Your essentialy gonna dissasemble your entire car. But this isnt necessary if you do a two tone paint. I was thinking of this on my DB '04Z with a silver pinstripe on the dividing line, but thats down the road when I finish my speed builds and get a body kit. With that you just pull the hood and hatch, tape out the fenders and body line, and remove all the weather stripping. Mask, prep, & spray.

I thought that color was denim black. The hicks over here would think that I'm joining their black primer crew if I painted mine!

......those first two pictures look photoshop to me. The first, much moreso than the second. I am a computer animation major, and I can usually pic those things out. If you look at the first picture. there is no reflection of the car in the glass on the right.....I may be wrong though, but it doesnt happen often.

I see a reflection of the rear part of the car and even the shadow from the overhead lighting in the first pic.

Yeah, definately great setup. The thing is it takes simplicity to make it work though. No blingy wheels or elaborate body kits. Little color, only to highlight.

Webber sport, and I dont think its a wide body. The way its designed makes the stance look wider.

I want to do that color to a civic. I wonder if people will think it's still primer.
