Powder coated oem TOW HOOK
Here's what I'm contemplating. Whether to have the hook painted anodized red or blue (with base coat). Either color will match the fittings on my oil cooler. The anodized red will also match my Python hose locks inside the engine bay and will somewhat flow with the color of my BBK. On the other hand, the anodized blue stands out and looks sexy IMO.
Any opinions guys?

I was also thinking of one benefit the tow hook would have if I decide to leave it attached while driving. It would save my cooler if I happen to get into a low impact frontal collision.

VO, every time I see a post with your engine bay it gets more and more awesome! You have done a fantastic job creating your show piece.
I do see your color choice dilemma, but stand by my blue recommendation.

yeah but lets face it this is just for show - you put the thing in at meets and shows. I think paint should hold up fine for that and its easy enough to respray.

damn vo, that is a hard decision to make. Blue and silver go well together if done right. Red is a sweet color too.
pc is much better then paint. It cures harder and is less prone to chip. It also can be glossy with having to spray a clear coat. It can be flat as well.
The finish is purely for aesthetics. It may hold better then paint would. Also, with the thickness of the pc, itll may the tow hook smooth, unlike paint thatll leave a nasty bumpy surface.

a. Buy 6 tow hooks.
b. Charge $40 for a painted hook.
c. Refund $20 when the buyer returns the unpainted hook.

If you race, it is a good idea to have the hook installed. Tow trucks want to clear the track fast.
